Wolfgang Ensinger is a professor at the Department of Chemistry, Co-Director of the Materials Science Center and head of the Ion Beam Group of Philipps- University of Marburg, Germany.
His research involves ion beam and plasma technology, materials science, nanotechnology, and nuclear chemistry.
He received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He has held research and teaching positions at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Augsburg, at the Research Center Karlsruhe, Germany, and at the Osaka National Research Institute in Japan.
He is author/co-author of over 150 refereed research papers.
He is a member of the Society of German Chemists (GDCh, Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker), German Physical Society (PDG, Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft), Materials Research Society (MRS), and European Materials Research Society (E-MRS).
