Important news about notification, deadlines and early registration
All Corresponding authors have been informed about the results of their abstracts.
If you have not received letter of Notification of Abstract Acceptance , please iform
the conference chairman immediately : aoztarhan@smmib05.net

Please note that:
Abstracts for poster presentations can still be submitted to the conference chairman
( aoztarhan@smmib05.net ) by e-mail attachment as post-deadline abstracts which will be
introduced as leaflets listing to the abstract book later as the ` post deadline submitted
abstracts`. They can be posted in the poster sessions and will have an equal chance of
being published in `Surface and Coatings Technology - Elsevier special proceedings` if
found acceptable by the referees.

CANCELLATIONS
The following charges will be levied in the event of cancellations with notification
delivered to ASITANE EVENTS by August 1, 2005
Members: USD 50 Students: USD 25
There will be no refund of registration fees for any cancellations after August 1, 2005.
Full registration fee must also be paid if the participant does not attend the
conference. Cancellations will only be accepted in writing.

DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF MANUSCRIPT: September 05, 2005

Please note that:
Those who have poster presentations have an equal chance of their work being published
in `Surface and Coatings Technology - Elsevier special proceedings` if found
acceptable by the referees.

There will be `Graduate student awards` for the best (1000 USD) , 2nd best (600 USD)
and 3rd best (300 USD) poster presentations.

We strongly encourage students to participate in the conference; the student
registration fee is very modest - see the website for details: www.smmib05.net
We especially hope that students will realize the quality and affordability of this conference,
and make post-deadline abstract submission (we still accept abstracts for poster
presentations, which will be introduced as leaflets listing to the abstract book later as the
` post deadline submitted abstracts`. They can be posted in the poster sessions and will
have an equal chance of being published in `Surface and Coatings Technology - Elsevier special
proceedings` if found acceptable by the referees.
Student registration fee: $ 80, which includes
- A copy of the final program and of abstracts
- Admissions to technical sessions and equipment exhibits
- Opening Cocktails Prolongé at historical Celcius Library
- Gala dinner at Pine Bay Beach with live music
- Half day conference outing
- Badge
- Conference bag
